The village is located on the west coast of Syros Island in the Cyclades and is a popular tourist resort with many places to stay.
It has a large and beautiful, well-organised sandy beach with crystal-clear, shallow waters, making it ideal for families with small children.
Don't miss the amazing sunsets!
Activities include swimming, walking, water sports, horseback riding and cycling.
The Catholic Chapel of Agia Pakou is located on the top of the hill of Galissas.
From here you will be able to take in the magnificent view, especially at sunset.
To get there, you will have to walk up a rocky path and climb some steps.
The Chapel of Agios Stefanos is a small church hidden among steep rocks.
If the storybooks are true, it was created after Saint Stefanos saved a fisherman who was fighting with a large octopus!
Galissas is on the main bus route from Ermoupolis, which is the administrative capital and main port of Syros.
The buses run frequently during the tourist season.
*Allow extra time if you are leaving the island.
The island also has an excellent 24-hour taxi service.
